Beginners information  and costs

The club has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and new students are always welcomed.

All classes are designed to enable  students, regardless of fitness levels, to participate fully and at their own pace. 

During the first few weeks of training you should feel free to attend the class wearing a t-shirt and shorts/track pants or any clothing that is not restrictive.

Gi's (karate suits) should be purchased through the club and will arrive embossed with the club logo. Costs will vary dependant upon the size/quality of the suit ordered. an approximate guide is as follows:

                          Child          Adult

Light Weight          £30             £35

Heavy Weight         £80            £80

As you progress with your training, sparring equipment (shin pads and hand mitts) will also become a required piece of equipment. these are available to purchase through the club.

Training Costs

There are no monthly fees charged, students only pay for sessions attended. Costs per session are as follows:

Adult £5 per session

Child £4 per session

License and Insurance Costs

Members of the Shi Gaku Kan karate dojos are required to pay a mandatory annual license & Insurance fee to S.K.K.I.F

New members are required to pay these costs on joining the dojo, these are as follows:

Child License  £23

Adult License £33

Insurance is included in above cost
